The Jamaica Dogsled Team began in June 2005 when Danny Melville, founder and CEO of Chukka Caribbean Adventures – and creative Jamaican -- spotted an odd-looking dog sled designed for dry-land racing, and thought what a great idea for “Brand Jamaica.” with dry land dog sled racing on the rise because of the absence of reliable snow, it was not too crazy a proposal. The team mushers based in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, train with their Jamaican rescue dogs and race during the winter months with their adopted dogs in the US and Canada. |
